This is Me.

Me & Dory in Real Life!

Hello, I’m Angeline! I love all things food, cats, nature, and Jesus. I’m currently based in Queens, New York City, where I live in a small apartment with my soccer-loving husband (Lemuel) and sassy cats (Dory and Toby).

The recipes you’ll find in my blog are influenced by my Southeast Asian roots and experiences living in Jakarta, Singapore, Toronto, and the Midwest. Trust me when I say you’ll find a little bit of everything here!

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved watching cooking shows like Yan Can Cook, Nigella Bites, and The Naked Chef. Yan taught me how to peel my first garlic with the “smash & peel” method. Nigella inspired a spontaneous heart in me to make food from leftover ingredients in the pantry. Jamie… well, he was always a joy to watch on TV! I don’t foresee myself being a cooking show host anytime soon. So this blog is a fun platform for me to express and emulate “cooking show host” vibes.

Growing up, my parents were also huge food people and taught me almost everything I knew about flavors! I’m passionate about food because they shared their passion and knowledge with me.

I’m a believer that cooking is about sharing personal experiences through food. You don’t need fancy ingredients or the best kitchen tools to make a delicious meal. All you need is a little heart, creativity, and a pinch of guidance to get started.

Thanks for being here and hope you stick around!
