Hello! I’m Angeline, a lover of all things food, cats, nature, and Jesus. I currently live in a small cozy apartment in Queens, New York City, with my husband and our two sassy cats, Dory and Toby.
The recipes on my blog are deeply influenced by my Southeast Asian roots. I was born in Indonesia, grew up in Singapore, and later moved to New York for college.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved watching cooking shows like Yan Can Cook and Nigella Bitef. Yan taught me to peel my first garlic clove with the “smash & peel” method, and Nigella inspired me to get creative and make spontaneous meals from pantry leftovers. While I don’t see myself becoming a cooking show host anytime, this blog gives me a fun platform to channel those “cooking show host” vibes.
I believe cooking is about sharing personal experiences through food. You don’t need fancy ingredients or the best kitchen appliances to make a delicious meal. All you need is a bit of heart, creativity, and a dash of guidance to get started.
I hope you’ll begin your Southeast Asian culinary journey with me here!
